Undercover Learning ® is an exciting new concept in that has the potential to bring learning out of the classroom and into a virtual world designed to simulate real life situations, challenging learners to find answers for themselves.
Undercover Learning ® was developed by the University of Essex, as a means of providing serious games to the professional community on a web platform.
Dr Lisa Jack, Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the University’s Business School, came up with the idea for the games in 2004 after searching for stimulating interactive teaching materials for her students. Many e-learning resources lack a ‘game’ element and interactive simulation games can be prohibitively expensive.
Undercover Learning ® fills the gap between long interactive serious games and e-learning assessments used by learners to apply and learn knowledge - which also have game elements to them. The result is efficient and cost effective.
